So…while there are certain things I LOVE about this blog (ability to password protect, change headers, etc) I DON’T love the fact that I have been trying to post some pictures for about 5 days and have not been able to. And because I already know how to do it on the other blog, I think I’ll be heading back there.

Gimme a ‘C’ – The Rejects

This weeks FotoFun challenge was to list 10 things you DON’T like….
Critters – More specifically bugs. I can’t stand them and will scream like a little girl if one ends up on me.

Costner – Ugh. I can’t stand any movie he has ever been in.

Cats – I don’t hate them, I’m just very allergic and always end up around them and they can sense that I don’t want them near me so they can’t leave me alone.

Colds – I hate being sick so I take a shot of Zic@m nearly every day.

Country music – the belt buckles, the hats and the twangy singers, too.

Cleaning – I can always find something better to do.

Caillou – The sound of his voice makes me go insane.

Cooked cauliflower – Love it uncooked, but cook it and I start to gag.

Culottes – they make me shudder. Gaucho pants are different. I’m talking double knit polyester culottes from 1978.

My 10th item is CLOWNS. I couldn’t even bring myself to try and find a picture of one because I would have had nightmares for days. I have actually had to pass on taking The Kid to a couple of events because I knew there would be clowns there. And a couple of times when we have gone to something and there were clowns there, I came really close to having a panic attack. Creepy, creepy!

Maybe we should branch out.

The Kid and I play this game that I like to call ‘Wake Up, Momma!’. The rules of the game are simple. I pretend to be asleep, and The Kid tries to wake me up. The real key to the game is, that I only wake up when she gives me a kiss. The other day, we were playing our game and she had said “Wake up, momma!” a couple of times, before crawling up into my lap (presumably to give me my kiss). She puts her hands on either side of my face and says “Wake up, momma! It’s time to go to T@arget!” I laughed so hard I nearly passed out.

Donna at Double Happiness is having another Foto Challenge. This time it is things that we love that start with a randomly assigned letter. I got the letter C. Without further ado:

Top 10 Things I Love That Begin with ‘C’ – not necessarily in order of importance, but maybe they are. And sorry the spacing is all weird. Blogger hates me.

1. Coffee – with cream and sugar, please

2. Chocolate – especially with hazelnut

3. China – I know some very special people who were born there

4. Cinema – or rather, the movies

5. Colin Firth – oh, is he ever easy on the eyes…

6. Computers

7. Candles – although I don’t burn them very often now that there is a kiddo running around

8. Children – and especially on in particular!

9. Cameras – I love to take pictures. Someday I would love to be good at it.

10. Charles Nelson Reilly (I almost went with Charo, but Charles won me over with his glasses.)

The Kid is smart

The other day, The Kid was singing Happy Birthday to me and when she finished I asked her if it was my birthday and she said yes. Then, being the little smarty pants that she is, she decided that we needed cake. Leave it to my kiddo to pretend it’s someone’s birthday just so she can get some birthday cake.

She also has a mind like a steel trap. A couple of weeks ago, we went to a baby shower. Before the shower I had picked up a couple of gifts for ‘the new baby’. She thought it was all for her and so we had a talk about how the presents were for ‘the new baby’ and that pretty much seemed to satisfy her. Even when we went to the shower, we talked about how the soon-to-be momma would be opening lots of presents of toys and books. The Kid understood that these were off limits because they were for ‘the new baby’. Well, she has not forgotten about that because since the shower, when she asks for something and I say no, she will nod wisely and say “for the new baby”. Then I have to try and explain to her that “No. It’s not for the new baby, honey. You just simply can’t have that sharp knife/scissors/matches on the counter.”
